David MacLeod will be speaking at a free one-day seminar hosted by andPartnership, a leadership development and change management consultancy.
Nottinghamshire, UK, August 03, 2010 -- In response to the recent governmental report ‘Engaging for success’1. The co-author of the report, David MacLeod will be speaking about the correlation between employee engagement and enhanced organisational performance.
andPartnership http://www.andpartnership.com specialises in employee engagement strategy and as such, has long believed what the MacLeod report confirmed; that there is comprehensive evidence correlating employee engagement with enhanced organisational performance. However, the report also concluded that whilst business leaders understand the need to, and the benefits of engaging with its people, they often don’t have the right tools and processes to implement it effectively.
It was this insight that compelled andPartnership to create this free seminar, bringing together David MacLeod to discuss the findings of the report, alongside business leaders who have experienced the tangible benefits of employee engagement (http://www.andpartnership.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9&Itemid=10),. andPartnership will share advice and run ‘real world’ workshops, to help provide effective solutions that attendees can then introduce into their own businesses.
The economic situation of the past two years only reinforces the need for effective staff engagement. David Yeadle of the manufacturer’s organisation EEF suggests that “it will be hard to get through the recession without engaging your work force” and yet data suggests that only three in ten of UK employees are actively engaged with their work 2, whilst the number of highly disengaged employees has increased from one in ten to one in five in recent years3.
andPartnership believes organisations that practice ‘transformational engagement’ see employees as integral to developing and delivering the business strategy. For example insights from frontline staff, helps constantly inform and refine strategy, ensuring market responsiveness.
David Tomkinson, Director at andPartnership believes that employees are open to engagement, saying “The good news is that when leaders are equipped with the right tools and knowledge and the processes are hardwired into an organisation’s DNA, employee engagement should be relatively simple. Our experiences suggest that employees have increasing expectations of purposeful and meaningful working lives, so if leaders can understand what their people care about, what makes them tick and what they want from their working lives, then small but significant shifts in behaviours can have a big impact on teams and the wider business.”
The andpartnership’s free seminar ‘Creating Engaging Leadership’ will be held in London on September 10th. Ian Derbyshire (CEO, Thomas Cook UK) and Kim Curry (Strategic Director, Leicester City Council), will be speaking alongside David MacLeod and Directors from andPartnership.
