Author: Mountainside Drug Rehab
Industry: Healthcare
WASHINGTON DC, January 25, 2013, 3:36 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently awarded a grant for research into the correlation between genetics, environment and alcoholism.

Researcher Tatiyana Apanasovich hopes to find evidence that supports her theory that hypothesizes that 40% to 60% of alcohol dependence is caused by genetic factors as well as environmental factors. She bases her hypothesis on recent discoveries regarding the correlation of overeating and addiction.

“We congratulate Ms. Apanasovich on receiving this grant to study alcoholism,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “We look forward to seeing her findings and hope that it will provide new information that will help in addiction treatment for individuals.”
