London gallery unveils typically eclectic shows to end 2014.
LONDON, October 14, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- London's Tate Modern, one of the most popular art galleries in the world and the thriving heart of London's South Bank entertainment district, has announced its programme for the rest of 2014. The gallery is located inside an old power station by the river opposite St Paul's, and within easy reach of several stations including Waterloo, London Bridge and Blackfriars as well as the City and West End. For more about the area, and to find the latest deals for a cheap hotel in London, see LondonTown.com.

From 9th October until 8th February 2015, the Tate will be holding Alibis: Sigmar Polke 1963-2010, featuring the work of an experimental artist who worked with all manner of materials, including meteor dust, soot and snail juice across a variety of media, encompassing painting, drawing, photography, film and sculpture. At the same time, Richard Tuttle: I Don't Know or The Weave Of Textile Language will be the new free installation in the gargantuan Turbine Hall, which greets visitors when they first enter the gallery. This sculpture brings together three specially-made fabrics, each of which combines natural and man-made fibres to create different textures in bright colours and suspended from the ceiling as a sculptural form.

Finally, Conflict, Time, Photography, which runs from 26th November 2014 to 15th March 2015, is a photographic exhibition that will highlight photographers who have looked back at moments of conflict, from the seconds after a bomb is detonated to 100 years after a war has ended. Staged to coincide with the centenary of the First World War, this major group exhibition offers an alternative to familiar notions of war reportage and photojournalism, instead focusing on the passing of time and the unique ways that artists have used the camera to reflect on past events. For more information on tickets and opening times for this and other events at the Tate Modern and other London art galleries and museums, see LondonTown.com.
