Dobbins through the establishment of the Manufacturing Education Fund at the Albion Community Foundation. Richard "." Dobbins was Vice President of Manufacturing at Albion Malleable. He later became President of Albion Industries and worked there until he retired in 1987. He graduated from St. Peter and Paul Academy in Ionia and attended Michigan State College where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Contributions to the Fund are eligible for the State of Michigan Tax Credit for Community Foundations. The law permits a taxpayer to reduce Michigan income tax liability by a credit of 50 percent of the amount contributed to a community foundation, subject to a maximum credit of $100 for an individual filing singly (for a $200 donation) and 200 for a married couple filing jointly (based on a $400 donation).
