Sounding The Alarm On Drug Abuse

Industry: Healthcare

NEW YORK- In recent times, a startling number of Hollywood and pop star elite have become slaves to the effects of drug and/or alcohol abuse. Many of these individuals' lives and the lives of their families have been drastically impacted either through their imprisonment, or worse, their death.

“America and the entire world tends to idolize the rich and famous,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “We see the lights, the big city, the seemingly-exciting lives they lead. But, many fail to see that the perks of a Hollywood and pop star lifestyle also have challenges, many of which can lead to drug or alcohol abuse. It isn't until a tragedy, such as death by overdose, happens that we are shocked back into reality and realize the magnitude of the many issues faced by those who are viewed as enjoying fame and fortune. The enemy for them can be drugs and alcohol.”

In a six-year period, the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) reported that unintentional drug overdose deaths more than doubled within the United States. Additionally, unintentional drug overdose became the second leading cause of unintentional injury, slightly behind car accidents. Most of the accidental overdoses were attributed not to illegal street drugs such as heroin or cocaine, but were found to be mostly associated with prescription narcotics.

Initially, the signs of drug use and abuse can be difficult to discern. However, as time goes on and the use and abuse gets worse, the signs are easily detected. If you suspect that your loved one is experimenting with drugs, you can help them by utilizing professional intervention services, which are offered by Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center.

For the past 13 years, Mountainside has established itself as an innovator within the addiction treatment field, and the treatment modalities Mountainside utilizes are regarded as among the most cutting-edge approaches in helping individuals to get, and to remain, sober.

The compassionate, caring treatment team at Mountainside is comprised of licensed and certified counselors and social workers as well as a Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Nurse, both of whom have specialization and extensive experience in drug addiction and alcohol treatment. For clients who may have psychiatric issues and/or a dual diagnosis, Mountainside provides the services of a Psychiatrist who also has specialization in addictions. As a result of their unique, innovative approaches to addiction treatment over the past 13 years, Mountainside has become the model for the addiction treatment field.

The program, along with its professional addiction treatment team, have earned national recognition and resulted in Mountainside being invited to Washington by the White House to meet with the White House Drug Czar, John P. Walters, for an in-depth meeting on what makes its program so successful. These accolades did not go unnoticed within the addiction treatment field and resulted in the adoption by many throughout the country of a more holistic approach to drug addiction treatment.

If you or someone you love is addicted to drugs or alcohol, or if you have any questions, please contact Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center for a confidential inquiry at 800-762-5433.
