Physiopod UK Limited, are very pleased to have received this thank you note, which describes how DEEP OSCILLATION® made the difference in the decision to compete or not compete in the Masters World Athletics Championships 3rd to 8th April 2012 in Finland and the results achieved, where he managed to compete in four races in three days just seven days after sustaining a calf injury.

Nottingam, Nottinghamshire, April 20, 2012 -- "I am a competitive athlete in my 40’s and a fitness professional working in a large health club. I became acquainted with Julie Soroczyzn and Physiopod UK a couple of years ago when she treated me for chronic Achilles Tendonitis. My first experience with DEEP OSCILLATION® was impressive to say the least. I went from barely being able to walk to being able to race again within four weeks, which was incredible. The recovery was so good that I had no further problems that season, or since with my Achilles. As a Masters Athlete I know that you have to find a balance between training hard and respecting your body as it ages. I have done this well over the last year so much so that I decided to enter the World Masters Indoor track & Field Championships in Finland in April 2012.

Training had been going very well and all was looking good leading up to the Championships, when exactly one week before my first race, I picked up a calf strain in training. I was initially devastated at the thought that I might not be able to compete as I had considerable pain when walking, I also knew that when I suffered the same injury a couple of years ago my recovery took several weeks using traditional physiotherapy and rehabilitation protocols. Before I gave up hope I decided to call Julie at PhysioPod UK, as she had done a great job on my Achilles previously. Julie game me a hands on treatment the very next day and the improvement was noticeable immediately, she also hired me the DEEP OSCILLATION® Personal SPORTS unit so that I could treat myself.

The next day, just 3 days before I was due to fly out to Finland (or make the dreaded decision not to go) I decided to go to the track and test the injury out. To my amazement I was able to jog without any pain and I was able to do a little fast running in trainers, however this was some way short of being able to sprint, let alone do so at a World Championships. For the next couple of days I treated myself a minimum of two times a day with each treatment lasting 20 to 30 minutes. The treatment itself is easy to apply, is pain free and in fact quite pleasant. I could even do it whilst watching TV.

I flew out to Finland on the Sunday, five days after picking up the injury. On the Monday I went to the track and completed a full warm up including sprints and sprint starts in trainers. This was a massive boost to my confidence and for the first time a thought I might actually be able to get through my first race in one piece. After my warm up runs I treated my injury back at the hotel with the personal unit and again before bed and upon waking the next day.

The first day of competition I was nervous, in fact very nervous. I had no idea whether I would make it to the start line or complete the race. My warm up went well and my runs with sprinting spikes felt surprisingly good. Well the good news is I made it through my 60m heat finishing fourth and running only 4 100ths of a second slower than my seasons best performance. I was very pleased yet still a little apprehensive as I had my main event the 200m the next day and I knew that the tight banked curves of the indoor track would seriously test out the injury.

I won my 200m heat in a seasons best time and felt no pain at all in my calf. I continued to treat myself 2 to 3 times daily with the personal unit and the next day I came 2nd in my semi-final thus making it through to the final of the M40 200m later on that day. I treated myself at the track after my semi final and eventually finished 6th in the 200m final, again improving on my seasons best time.

I was ecstatic with my performance in my first ever international competition and relieved and amazed that I had gotten through 4 races in 3 days just 7 days after picking up the calf strain; amazing!

I wanted to write this account because people who have not heard of, or used DEEP OSCILLATION® treatment before may be reluctant to move away from their traditional re-hab protocols but in my experience it really does work and I can’t praise it enough.

So once again thank you, Julie for your help and although I hope I won’t be seeing you for a long time if the old body starts to break down.. I know exactly who to come to"
