Great series of family events announced for the summer at Kenwood House.
LONDON, April 28, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The stately home that sits in the centre of one of London's largest open spaces has announced a programme of family events this spring. Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath boasts incredible interiors and stunning art collection as well as acres of grounds with unrivalled views of London. Hampstead Heath is heaven for ramblers and children, boasting a combination of landscaped lawns and wild woodland, as well as pools, paths and playgrounds. It is easily reachable from central London by underground, rail or bus and there are several great restaurants, shops and cafes in the environs. For more about Hampstead Heath, and to get the latest deals on hotels in London, see LondonTown.com.

Kenwood House's programme of family arts, crafts and storytelling events is another great reason to visit the area. Families can work together to try out different arts and crafts at Family First Sundays from Sunday 7th June and which then take place on the first Sunday of every month. These creative workshops will bring Kenwood's world famous paintings to life. Under 5's Fridays takes place every Friday, allowing families with pre-schoolers to join the creative craft making, sweet storytelling and fun sing-a-longs for a memorable morning in a unique setting.

Children can discover the stories behind the house's collection with interactive storytelling sessions at Storytelling Sundays on Sunday 26th April and Sunday 31th May. These multi-sensory and hands-on sessions are a great opportunity to uncover the lives of the people in the paintings. May Half Term Crafts from Tuesday 26th to Thursday 28th May is a chance for children to enjoy their school break and get their creative juices flowing as they get crafty and make something great to treasure and take home. This will be repeated throughout the summer holidays every Tuesday and Wednesday with 'Summer Holiday Crafts'.

Kenwood Stories takes place on the last Sunday of every month from Sunday 28th June, throughout the year, while Slavery Remembrance Day on Sunday 23 August gives visitors the opportunity to commemorate this day by taking part in this storytelling and enactment event based on Dido Bello, who was born into slavery from her biological mother Maria Belle, but brought to live at Kenwood by her father John Lindsay, a British citizen who moved her to England. For more information on other events at Kenwood House as well as daily opening times and admission prices, see LondonTown.com.
