Many Triad companies will be affected by federal and state court rulings
in the new presidential term
WHAT: The largest employers’ association in the state, Capital Associated Industries, Inc. (CAI), will host the 2008 Employment Law Conference, a one-day conference on labor law changes that may come about in the new presidential term. The program is aimed at executives, corporate counsel, HR professionals, managers, supervisors, and anyone else who needs to know the latest developments in federal and state employment law and how those changes could affect companies now and in the future.
Participants will learn how to prepare for possible changes in employment law as a result of the 2008 election, including the Family and Medical Leave Act and the possible passage of the Employee Free Choice Act. Sessions will also discuss state and federal laws covering harassment, diversity, hiring, employee attendance, technology and information policies, and the aging workforce.
Experienced attorneys from Constangy, Brooks & Smith, a labor and employment law firm, will also lead a discussion and conduct an interactive, fun pop-quiz testing the legal aptitude of the audience.
